User story mapping

Together, we map out the tasks a user needs to perform and create a visual overview. The story map allows us to focus on the user's needs, discuss priorities and understand how the flow fits together.

Affinity mapping

You might be familiar with estimation techniques like Scrum poker. Sometimes you need a way to estimate more items faster. Taking the story map example from above, we need to find out how complex building those things might be. Together, we estimate the task complexity in an affinity estimation session.

After the workshop you should be familiar with the basics of user story mapping and affinity estimations, ready to try them in one of your product development sessions.

Speaker(s)

Josef Kruckenberg

Product Owner, Drupalista at Liip
Speaker biography

Josef aka dasjo started using Drupal 5 as a site builder in 2007. When doing his social service abroad in Nicaragua, he first got involved with the international community and since then is a continuous contributor to the project.

His contributed modules include often needed helpers like Facet API Pretty Paths or his diploma thesis Geocluster for putting millions of items on a map. What Josef most enjoys, is connecting with open minds from all around the Drupal community. From training Drupal across Central America to organising local Drupal events in Europe.

After working for Drupal agencies in Vienna, Josef moved to Switzerland where he worked for Amazee Labs, Unic and Liip.
